The pharmaceutical industry is still regarded as one of the most rapidly growing and innovative industries. Even though there are some small and medium sized pharmaceutical companies, the industry is mainly recognised through the Top 10 global pharma companies such as Johnson&Johnson, Novartis, and Pfizer. It is our concern to be able to offer a broad range of potential employers for our candidates, which is why there are small, medium-sized, and big pharma companies in our client base. We do not only focus on so-called originators in our market, but also on generics companies, contract manufacturers, contract research organisations, contract labs and engineering-suppliers who are crucial for the pharmaceutical industry.

Whilst the pharmaceutical industry is mainly embossed by big companies, the biotech industry in Germany is still dominated by small and medium-sized companies. In the last decade, many so-called biotech clusters have been set up, which are operating in different regions and help small companies with a functioning infrastructure. The biotech scene can certainly be described as fragile but yet immensely innovative.
We understand the industry and its specific character; often venture capital financed, biotechnology companies are not only in a fierce competition for technology but also for funding and investors. Consequently, it is particularly difficult in these industries to set aside capital for personnel consultancies.
Nevertheless, in the past we have always found satisfactory solutions for all sides by taking into account the specifics of the industry. We are sure that we can also find an individual solution for and with you!

Unlike the pharmaceutical sector, the medical technology sector is strongly characterised by small and medium-sized enterprises. There are certainly some large companies here, too, but medical technology clearly shows that SMEs can
also be market leaders or so-called hidden champions. The multifaceted nature and above all the history of the corporate landscape is classically shaped by SMEs. Here, too, service companies, OEM/OED companies, packaging experts, as well as engineering houses and contract developers play an eminent role. Accordingly, these companies are also an essential part of ageneo’s customer portfolio.
The medical technology sector is considered an important economic and labour market factor in Germany; with over 210,000 employees and double-digit billions in turnover, medical technology is an exciting and above all solid branch of industry. The career prospects in medical technology are excellent; the majority of companies are forecasting further growth in personnel in the current year. At the same time, the job opportunities are diverse:

Diagnostics, often defined as a branch of the medical technology industries, plays an important role for ageneo.
The market and many trends, not least the increased demand for personalised medicine and sophisticated diagnostic methods, mean that the diagnostics industry is currently “booming”. This is one of the reasons why ageneo is paying special attention to the diagnostics sector.
The diagnostics industry in Germany is organised in the Association of the Diagnostics Industry (VDGH), which comprises 100 companies that manufacture diagnostics (more specifically: in-vitro diagnostics) and so-called life science research (LSR) products. The VDGH describes the industry as “crisis-resistant” and “stable” (cf. Stifterverband, VDGH). Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) also play the leading role in the diagnostics industry; over 90% of companies in Germany are SMEs.
According to the VDGH, the diagnostics sector is one of the most research-intensive sectors in Germany, along with the pharmaceutical industry: on average, diagnostics companies invest around 11% of their domestic turnover in research & development. EU-wide, Germany is the largest market for diagnostics.

There is a great need for advice in the life science industries, not only, but also essentially in the regulatory area.
Accordingly, there are numerous consultancies specialising in regulatory issues. In addition to these, other companies (IT consultancies, process and strategy consultancies) also support the industry with their expertise. Therefore, these companies are also important for ageneo and optimally round off our portfolio for interested applicants.
As the consulting business is a central one within our sectors, we are successively expanding our partner network. We work together with experts from different fields and can thus offer very fast and professional support.
