Medical Science Liaison (gn) - Hessen, NRW

DAS UNTERNEHMEN

We are currently assigned to recruit a Medical Science Liaison (MSL) for a growing biotechnology company. In this role, you are a field-based medical-scientific expert who confidently communicates about the company's products using clinical and scientific expertise. The MSL is responsible for identifying and developing relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs) and educating healthcare providers about disease states and products in the endocrinology area. 

IHRE AUFGABEN

• Serve as the field-based external-facing medical representative for a specific region, in this case parts of Hesse, North Rhine-Westphalia, and Rhineland Palatinate
• Create awareness in the endocrinology community and communicate the potential of innovative technology to transform the practice of endocrinology
• Maintain a high level of medical expertise to support the portfolio/pipeline and relevant disease states 
• Provide medical/scientific presentations to both internal and external audiences
• Identify key opinion leaders (KOLs) and key organizations (e.g., professional associations, patient advocacy groups) for disease states within your assigned geography
• Identify the scientific needs of healthcare providers (HCPs), researchers, and patient advocates important to patient care within your geography
• Develop and maintain a KOL engagement plan that fosters collaborative relationships within geography
• Capture external insights about the disease state, portfolio and pipeline, and competitors and communicate to internal stakeholders in a timely and effective manner
• Build strong relationships with internal colleagues (e.g., Market Access, Marketing, and Sales) by providing medical expertise and support as needed
• Collaborate with Internal Medical Affairs colleagues to support regional deliverables (e.g., scientific support, internal/external presentations)
• Participate in the development and implementation of the Field Medical Team's strategic goals and objectives
• Provide scientific support at medical congresses including participation in clinical data presentations, scientific exchange at the medical affairs booth, and internal or external meetings
• Engage with external researchers as a primary contact and take care of investigator-initiated trials (IITs)
• Support clinical trial operations to ensure success with planned and ongoing clinical trials, including identifying, supporting, and regularly engaging clinical trial investigators, and sites. 
• Document all relevant activities in the CRM platform
• Ensure understanding of and maintain compliance with department and corporate policies and procedures

IHR PROFIL

• Degree in natural sciences or healthcare related field
• Several years of industry experience with a minimum of 3 years as an MSL
• Experience in endocrinology or rare disease would be a great plus, specialty care experience is a must-have
• Ability to speak at eye level with endocrinologists and pediatricians and explain medical impact from a patient perspective
• Excellent self-organization skills
• Outgoing and engaging personality

• Strong oral and written communication skills with a high capability to understand and effectively communicate scientific and clinical information in virtual and live settings is required
• Ability to collaborate with a wide range of people to achieve results
• Ability to work autonomously to organize and prioritize your own work schedule
• Ability to make decisions which have a significant impact on the department’s credibility, operations, and services
• Ability to create materials such as reports and presentations and to present/speak to both internal and external groups
• Fluency in German and English is a must 
• Willingness to travel
